SomoGear PEQ-15
The AN/PEQ-15,
also known as the Advanced Target Pointer
Illuminator Aiming is a laser
aiming / illumination device that is typically mounted on personal weapons such
as M4a1 carbines.
The PEQ-15 is part of the Block
II iteration of the Special Operations Peculiar MODification program which
provides a range of accessories for rifles, among others.
It is similar in function to wholesale
tactical gearthe PEQ, which was an element of the original SOPMOD
package, but comes in at nearly half the size and weight as its predecessor.
Unlike the PEQ-2, which only worked with night vision goggles, the PEG-15 can
also produce a laser beam that is visible to the naked eye.
The beam can be set to narrow
and used for aiming / target acquisition or to wide and used as an area
illumination device.
The Advanced
Target Pointer/Illuminator/Aiming Laser is small, lightweight and easy to use.
The aiming system has integrated infrared and visible aiming lasers and an
infrared illuminator. SomoGear
PEQ-15 Green Aiming Laser IR Illuminator has
been battle-tested for use on small arms and crew-served weapons. This
device is the U.S. Armed Forces standard for night direct-fire aiming and
illumination. Some models are restricted for use by law enforcement and military
organizations.
AN/PEQ-15 ADVANCED TARGET
POINTER ILLUMINATOR AIMING LIGHT (ATPIAL) is the successor to peq
15 clone. Compared with AN/PEQ-2A, AN/PEQ-15 is only AN/PEQ-2A in
volume Half, the body is thicker and the fixing seat is directly combined with
the body, which has more selectivity than the AN/PEQ-2A. The design of the
AN/PEQ-15 body is more like an inverted indentation, with a 1913 rail recessed
in the middle The seat is used to reduce the height. This foreign design makes
the AN/PEQ-15 body closer to the weapon body when it is installed on the
weapon. If it is hit by external force, it will not cause the fixed seat to
break. In the past, AN/PEQ-2A used 1913 rails. When the seat is fixed, the back
of the SomoGear
PEQ-15 Red Aiming Laser IR Illuminator is basically suspended. If the
impact surface is at the back, the AN/PEQ-2A will be broken into two pieces.
The author has seen two airsoft tactical
broken into two pieces. The photo is really not a tragic word to describe. uses
a CR123 battery as the power source instead of AAA battery as the power source.
Because the previous use of rechargeable CR123 batteries caused the PEQ-14 bulb
to burn out, people really don’t want to try rechargeable Type of CR123
battery.
AN/PEQ-15
began to integrate visible lasers. In the past, only the LAM for pistols had
visible lasers, while the PEQ for rifles only had invisible lasers and
lighting. I don’t know if the US military is on the battlefield. Whether there
is a need for laser calibration of visible light, or a small change such as a
gimmick.
